I've been doing quite a bit of bitching and moaning moaning and groaning about the cold weather lately. I've even alluded to the fact that it's caused me to do some, er, things that might have been ever so slightly completely out of character. So when the temperature zoomed from the 20's straight up to the 80's I was clearly thrilled.
The sudden arrival of warm weather took the whole family by storm. Everyone was so relieved to be out of the house without first having to stuff themselves into multiple layers of clothing like plump little sausages that I think they forgot the natural order of the universe.
For example, just because it's 84 degrees does not mean it's safe to look at virgin, white skin without sunglasses.
Just because it was 84 degrees today does not mean that you can run around in the backyard leaving a trail of shoes and socks behind you. Well, actually you can... that's what you always do... but please realize that in spite of your blissful glee the wind is still blowing and objects left on the edge of the pool will likely not remain where you left them.
Just because it was 84 degrees does not mean if you tempt the gods by running around the still-frigid-pool in your bathing suit your dad will resist temptation. Really. You're nine years-old now. You should know better.
Sneak attack from the rear. It's dicey strategy. She almost turned and saved herself at the last moment...
But, alas, she was too caught up in the moment. He had her by the waist. She struggled and squealed to no avail... and she went in.

oh my gosh...I can *feel* that cold water...
Wow!! 84!! I can't wait! We got snow again yesterday:-( I hope this madness will end soon.
It was warm here too! (Not 84, but not cold.)
I feel a bit bad for the snowman, but I'm glad we won't be seeing im again for awhile.
Buh bye snowman, you will not be missed.
When she put that swimsuit on...it was open season! :)
That's so weird to see a snowman and a pool in the same yard on the same day. How often will that happen? What's the status of the your little friend in the freezer? Is he still around?
OMG ~ Is this your backyard??!!! I want it!! Do you live in Virginia?? This was almost the exact scenario of temps for us last week ~ LOL!
I love the yard. I am VERY jealous! Here in NY it was in the 60s this weekend but today is right back to a chilly yet semi tolerable 40. We are expecting snow and ice tonight again! I am so done with the whole winter thing!

I love the first day of warm weather after a long cold winter! We were lucky enough to have a nice warm day too. The whole town was out and about and happy. Can't wait for spring to officially set in!
OMG, that poor girl!!!
I am glad you had some spring weather!!! Being cooped up makes us all a little wonky!
84 degrees!! Oh, am I jealous! It was snowing here this morning. Ugh!
its too funny that you are soaking up the sun and getting thrown in the pool while there is still a snowman lurking around the corner...hehehe but I have to say Im with you Im tired of the snow and the cold and am sooo ready for the warm weather....so then we can moan about how hot it is hehehe
I want some 84 degree weather!
Poor thing as I know EXACTLY how that feels. She should know with nine years experience what dads do. Enjoy the warmth!
Wow. 84 and the snowman was still holding on.
Not sure why you couldn't leave a comment about the pbj time song. I didn't close comments. Glad to hear someone else loves it, too.
This is the first (and only) blog post I have ever read which included a picture of a gorgeous pool AND a snowman. What a weird week it was. Ah, Spring.
It went from the 70's last week to snowing on Saturday and the silly mom that I am still tempted a 13 mile bike ride with Tooters. She was a trooper and made 8 of the miles before I had to call my boyfriend to come and get her. But as stubborn as I am I just had to finish my ride to prove a point. Who I was proving it to I am still unsure lol.
You know the weather is messed up when you have someone swimming and a snowman in the yard!
How fun!!! Our weather today is freezing!!!!! We are expecting another big snow storm today. YUCK!!
People that ski love it. People that fall don't.
My boys and Papa are going skiing Tuesday. I will be staying home.
That pool sure looks nice!
Yeah, it's snowing right now. And I'm bitter.
Haha you guys might have gone a tad overboard in your joy that the warm weather has arrived.
But maybe not, it's never been so cold here that it snows, so I don't know the joy that comes with the snow going away.
Super cool post--love the pics (for some reason, I think the sock in the pool one could be, like, a poster). :D
Oh my gosh, the snowman! Lol!
virgin white skin...hahaha!
And your comment on my post today about industrial bra cracked me up!
Haha, she had to freeze!!! 84 degrees--heaven. I am so thankful that the nice weather is finally showing it's face!
Virgin white skin- lols! hahaha... Here on my side of the world it's super duper hot! I miss mr. snowman, but I love spring and summer season. It's the best. =) Great pictures by the way. Oh and the sock floating in the pool, lols... hahaha
Forget the 80 degree weather... I'm totally jealous of your pool!!
I was sitting there thinking man that water looks so yummy I just want to jump in and then I got to the snowman picture! That is too great!
wow.. way to go dad. I wish it was 84.. What the pool's not heated? *L*
love your pool! Hate the snow. It snowed today again... argh.
Our weather this week was redonkulous. But, uh, wait just a cotton-picking minute. You have a pool? Um, so you guys have plans this weekend? If you do, that's cool...I can just hop the fence. K?
And in response to Ollie McKay, just because I can't resist...
To those of us "Inside the Beltline" yes, she does live in "Virginia." ;) Hee hee.
Geezus! I'm in Vegas and still wouldn't jump into the pool just yet! You've got some brave ones up - down(?) there!
