My name is KathyB!, and I am a...

Yesterday started well. I got to sleep in, I was served my favorite breakfast... And I got to wear my new sleepshirt. It's a little fuzzy, but it says, "It's official, I've become my mother."

My mom gave me this shirt, inspired by <<this post>>.

I had the luxury of doing whatever I wanted yesterday. I told everyone that we were going kayaking. And I really meant it. Really. I love kayaking and the girls are old enough now to handle themselves in their own boats.

But then I went outside and the weather was fabulous. Sunny, but not hot. Definitely not humid. The perfect day to head to the nursery and load up on plants.

And I got so involved with this

And this

And this

And this (it's a little toad peeking out between my fingers)

That we never got to do this

My name is KathyB! and I am a garden-aholic.

Good Monday Morning! Just spreading some belated Mother's Day cheer through the Blogoverse.

I wish I could garden. Alas, I've been cursed with a brown thumb. Which is weird because my Mom is a fantastic gardener who loves all plants...oh, and animals and bugs. She's been known to rescue hurt grasshoppers that she finds in the yard.

Kayaking looks like fun!

Sounds like you had a fun day... I'm no gardener, but I do like flowers...

It's kind of like wishing I could have my cake and eat it too, I guess...

Welcome to the garden club Kathy B. I think it does wonders for the mind. I always retreat to the flowers when things get a little rough, or on beautiful days like yesterday. Sounds like a wonderful time.
Love the new T-shirt.

That's what I did yesterday too:-) Love the garden center!

I'll never admit this to my husband if he were to by chance read this being as that he is a landscaper and all. But, would you come be my gardener! My yard and flower beds need some serious help! He's too busy making sure everyone else has the most beautiful yard and flowers to have time for ours!

I love your sleep shirt!

I never even got to the gardening I wanted to do, let alone kayaking.

That shirt is too much.

Such cute photos! I'm glad you had a nice Mother's Day!

We went to my dad's for his 60th birthday. He lives in Eastern Oregon. So we spent the majority of Mother's Day driving home.

I picked up some pretty flowers and strawberries from a nursery on the was home from our Silver Creek Falls trip. I need to get them planted!

I love the cute little toad and your new sleep shirt!

Have a great Monday!

I was wondering why you haven't come around yet to claim your award - and here I see I haven't notified you yet!! :)

Yep, it's waiting for you on my blog!

Love your shirt! I had one that said "Thirty Something" and wore it till I was almost 50 something.. finally got smart and threw it away. I think it was just wishful thinking that I would always remain in my 30's. Time has a way of taking care of that.

Great flowers Kathy B!

Love the shirt... and I wish I could garden...plant anything and it wouldn't die..or even mow my lawn on a regular basis. I'm so garden-illiterate. :)

Well you look very happy and as if you had a great day! You are beautiful!

Oh, I so, so, so wish I could say the same! I love a beautiful garden, but have a black thumb as well as no sense of what looks good where. We're trying the square foot garden this year. Nowhere near as lovely, but hopefully efficient enough for even me not to screw up.

They look beautiful, though - especially the little frog. All we ever find is worms... and dead plants. Want to visit? ;)

The planters look beautiful! It looks like it was a productive Mother's Day for you.
Love the shirt!

Those are ADORABLE pictures. However, do you really think you should be touching nature??

I'm not so sure!

Oooooo...that sounds fantastic! A perfect way to spend a Mother's Day.

Love the nightshirt, too. There are so many ways I've become my mother, I can't even go there...

Happy Mother's Day!

Oh my gosh - I have even killed my green thumb - that's how sad I am when it comes to keeping plants alive.

But really, could you be any cuter with that toad/frog/slimy thing?!?!

Gibby said...

Anonymous Mom did a great thing giving you that sleep shirt. Hilarious!

Love the flowers! I love getting lost in flowers, isn't it the best?

Jen said...

I want a garden, I really, really do. Can you come and help me. Pleeeeeeease!?!

Jane! said...

Okay, I'll take the kayaks off your hands and bequeath to you my whole yard to garden your little MiracleGro addicted heart out.

Wait. Do I have to be dead to bequeath?

countryfriedmama said...

So beautiful! I have two black thumbs. I believe I may actually be growing some viable vegetables in my backyard, though. Miracles can happen.

I love your plants.

I used to be a house plant addict - now I can barely remember to feed the cats and most of the plants seems to have a suicide pact. (Those first borns really turn your life upside down.)

Happy mother's day.

I love the picture of you and the toad--too cute! I think I might have preferred going kayaking, but you look like you had a great time in the garden!

Kathy B! you look adorable in that t-shirt! And you are the cutest darn gardenholic.

And please let me know.........HOW do you keep beige pants and a pink t-shirt clean while you are digging in the dirt??? (OMG no dirt wiped across your brow!!!)
I look like a sweaty, homeless bag lady when I am doing my yard work!!!

Happy belated Mother's Day, my dear!

I have to admit that i'm jealous of your gardening skills! I have a black thumb and have been known to kill plants by simply looking at them. Your plants all look so lovely!

Those pictures of you are adorable, KB! The shirt one is cute and you look positively gleeful with that frog on your hand!

Every spring I go plant crazy but this year I don't think I will get it since I started college classes yesterday and I am trying to balance school, work, Tooters, company and regular house stuff. You can come to my house since you look like you are great at it. My yard is your canvass!!!!
