Garden surprises

This weekend our calendar was full of college football games and birthday parties and sleepovers and everyone was excited. So when I found these in the garden on Friday:

And these in the garden on Saturday:

I was considering myself pretty lucky.

Then we found these:

Technically they weren't in my garden. The four orphaned kittens were under the porch of an unoccupied home, and a neighbor came over to tell us about them. The mother is a feral cat and rumor has it that the neighbor's dog chased her away.

Guess who's their mommy now....

You are a brave, brave soul. Luckily, I have an excuse..I'm allergic.

But the pic of your daughter holding the kitten is really cute!

That's how we've ended up with pets in the past. It's a great experience. Enjoy them:D

aww you are a good person. I am not. I am tired enough with two kids, cannot take care of pets.
They are cute, though. But I am not supermom like you :)

Congrats on your little bundles of joy. So glad that they are old enough to eat on their own. They are adorable. The kitty babies I raised have gone out into the world and are waiting to be adopted. Good Luck you are doing a really good thing Kathy B :o)

Oh, how sweet! Except that there are 4 of them. And they all need to be fed and cared for! But.. they are cute!

The same thing happened to my aunt! Their home just became "That place with all the animals" so when some kittens got abandoned the neighbour came knocking and told them about it.

At first they were like "Why should we have to take them in? We've got enough cats. He's the one who found them"

But that lasted about 10 minutes. They weren't going to let the little things starve in the elements.

Susie said...

Oh no! Congratulations on the new additions to your family:-)

Oh wow. All four?

Are you kidding? I certainly am not adopting one of those helpless creatures...remember what I did to Skipper the Guppy??

passions and soapboxes said...

Well at least they won't rot like the coconut...haha! Feral born cats are a little different in personality and temperament from the usual house cat as I'm sure you may have noticed. They are more independent for one thing but they can still make a very good pet and they might help with your critter problem.

Erin said...

Aww those precious little babies will bring so much joy! I wouldn't be able to turn them away!!

bernthis said...

you mentioned you had four kitties in your last comment to me. Very cute but I'm so not a cat person I confess I think I would rather have that elephant

Cynthia said...

Awwww...way to save the kittens! Go you:)

peewee said...

THREE?!?! THREE?!?!!?!??!

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAA!!

I had a bunny and a cat once. The bunny was "lilly" until it started humping the cat.

You're gonna have FUN!
